James Monroe is one of the only guys in history who was able to win two elections in a row with almost no competition at all. He even ran completely unopposed in his second attempt!

Monroe not only persevered through a tough time in our history during the War of 1812 - he did it with one of the most bipartisan cabinets ever! While we don't agree with all of his policies and beliefs, you can't deny that Monroe had a wonderful effect on the United States of America.
